Bear Snores On

Today we introduced the concept of hibernation and therefore we ended the day by watching this cute story. It is quite long, in fact I stopped it at intervals to explain what it happening but the children enjoyed it thoroughly. I encourage you to watch it again together (click on the picture). Repetition helps the children’s learning and they would enjoy sharing with you what we do in class 🙂

We’re Going on a Bear Hunt

Today we watched this story and the children loved it! I’m sure they’ll enjoy it if you watch it again together (click on the picture above). It has a nice rhyme and melody to it, in fact we also clapped to it. Also, there are loads of activities you can do together related to this story. There are many ideas online. One of my favourites is creating a sensory tray as illustrated in the below link (just click on the picture)

Have a great time!! Feel free to send any pictures of your activities together with your child to school. I will give the child the opportunity to share his/her experience with the rest of us during circle time 🙂

Goldilocks and the 3 Bears

Hello dear Parents/Guardians,

I hope you’re all well. We can’t do a project about bears without reading the popular fairytale ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ right? 🙂 In class I related the story using a puppet theatre and stick puppets. The children loved it! I’m uploading this cute song that relates the story as well. We didn’t watch it in class but I’m sure you’ll have fun watching it together. Just click on the picture and enjoy!

When I’m Sad..

Today we talked about our feelings. We discussed the fact that it’s ok that we feel sad, angry or frustrated sometimes and what’s important is how we handle these feelings. When we feel angry we can breathe in and breathe out, we can find a quiet spot until we calm down and we can talk to our parents/guardians or teachers. When we feel sad we can think of things that makes us happy. To help us out we watched this song from the popular musical ‘The Sound of Music’ (click on the picture). Enjoy!! 🙂

Welcome to class 2.2!

welcome aboard.jpeg

Hello everybody! Please allow me to introduce myself. I am Ms. Alexia and I am following the B.A.(Hons) in Early Childhood Education and Care at the University of Malta. I am currently in my last year of studies and for my teaching practice I have been assigned to this class. It is my absolute pleasure to be trusted with your precious ones! I’m already growing very fond of them! We are spending 6 weeks together until Christmas and another 6 weeks from the 6th of March till the 16th of April. I am definitely looking forward to experiencing this journey together! I promise I’ll do my absolute best to help your little ones feel safe, secure, happy and full of enthusiasm for learning.

This, however, won’t be as fruitful without your collaboration. Noone knows your child as much as you do and if we work together we can certainly help your child strive for his/her full potential! I would be uploading some useful links and updates. Kindly note that Ms. Maria would still be the main contact person, but feel free to leave some feedback here as well 🙂

Looking forward to spending this year with your little munchkins!

Ms. Alexia
