Christmas Songs

The following are links to various Christmas songs. I’m sure you’ll have fun singing and dancing together as much as we are in class. Just click on the pictures and enjoy! 🙂 All the best to you and your loved ones xx

P.S. I’m not uploading the one we’re doing at the Christmas concert… that’s a surprise! 🙂

The Nutcracker

The story we read today was a huge hit with the children! I was quite surprised to be honest as it was quite long. I thought I needed to split it into 2 sessions but the children were so excited to see how the story ends! In class I used a book but I thought I’d share this version I found online.

Currently at the cinemas they’re showing ‘The Nutcracker and the Four Realms’. I would love to take the children myself but this is not possible for various reasons. Maybe I’ll manage to show it to them at a later stage during my second teaching practice in April. In the meantime, click on the picture above and enjoy! 🙂

Esplora Outing

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Just a kind reminder that on Wednesday 12th December, we are going to Esplora. Please make sure that the children are on time as we need to be ready by 8.45am sharp. We are going by bus and we should be back at school by 1.00pm. Kindly also provide our young explorers with lunch and water as usual.

We all look forward to having a great time!

Thanks for your continuous support,

Ms. Alexia

Mary and Joseph Travel to Betlehem

Today we watched this short clip to get an idea of what the journey to Betlehem must have been like for Mary and Joseph. We discussed whether riding on a donkey is comfortable, what supplies they needed to carry with them, what kind of clothes they needed for the extreme temperatures they experienced and what kind of animals they might have encountered on the way. Afterwards, we acted this journey out in our school grounds. I’m sure the children have a lot to relate when you ask them about it 🙂 Click on the picture and enjoy! 🙂

Our project at a glance

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The below picture shows what we call ‘The Documentation Panel’. It shows the development of our project. On the top left hand side is the web. The notes in blue are those that the children came up with when we started the project and those in green indicate new knowledge they learned along the way.

On the top right corner we found out that the favourite bear species in class is the Panda while the least favourite is the Brown Bear. On this board you can also see some pictures of the children during some activities, our results of the ‘Am I as Tall As a Bear’ activity and our preparations for the Teddy Bear Picnic amongst others.

This panel is updated regularly and you are always welcome to come and have a look for yourself 🙂
